Surety Association of Houston

The Surety Association of Houston is a non-profit Association that strives to improve the service rendered to the community by the underwriters and marketers of corporate suretyship. The Surety Association of Houston shall promote understanding among its members through the study and discussion of local surety problems and matters; provide a central facility for correspondence with other organizations and with public bodies; disseminate useful and interesting information and perform such other functions related to suretyship.

Issues With Bonds and Contracts

The Surety Association of Houston is interested in knowing about onerous bond forms and contracts that are presenting problems in the marketplace.  When submitting a problem or issue regarding a bond or contract to the SAH, please provide the following:

  • Summarize the issue with the bond or contract
  • Provide a copy of the document in question (and point out where in the document the onerous language is)
  • Provide a status of the situation, if the issue has been reviewed by legal counsel and relay what you would request of the SAH.

Surety Association of Houston Happy Hour!

What could be better for our first gathering in 2012 than a Happy Hour at the Houston Texans Grille, on Thursday, February 2nd to network with your surety colleagues and to celebrate our AFC South Champs! Thanks to all your contributions there will be NO charge for this event—which includes appetizers and 2 complimentary cocktails or beers.

We are very excited about 2012 and have many exciting activities planned. Come out and join your SAH members for some great food, drinks, and fun as we get ready for another great year.

2011 SAH Chistmas Party

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of SAH for coming out to the Annual Christmas Party. The turn-out this year was amazing, with over 100 members attending. Thank you all for your generosity to the Houston Food Bank. We were able to raise approximately $1,200 in cash donations and over 350 lbs. of donated food items. Combining this event and the bowling tournament, we raised close to $2,000 in cash and over 400 lbs. of food donations. Thank you ALL!
