April 2012 Luncheon

The Surety Association of Houston is pleased to announce it's first luncheon of the year with our special guest Edward Pensock, Jr. of TxDOT. Mr. Pensock will be discussing the mechanics of the Grand Parkway Expansion Public-Private Project (P3) relating to how the partnership was developed, how the private funding was made available, selection criteria of the design-build contractor and the specific performance/payment bond requirements. As we all know, these types of projects are becoming more prevalent in construction today and is trending to not only the very large construction projects, but moderate size projects as well. Mr. Pensock is currently the Interim Director of the Strategic Projects Division at the Texas Department of Transportation and is very knowledgeable of the Grand Parkway expansion as well as many other TxDOT projects that are similar in nature. In addition, Edward will discuss his past experiences with P3 and TxDOT’s possible use of P3 on moderate size projects in the future. The luncheon invite and registration are attached.
